How to Make a QR Code for Your Resume

Four steps, about thirty seconds, no account.

Upload your resume to TapX, enter your name, and TapX creates a QR code you can save to your phone. When someone scans it, your resume opens.

Free. No account. PDF works best.

The four steps

  1. 1Upload your resume as a PDF.
  2. 2Enter your name so the page knows whose resume it is.
  3. 3Save your QR code to your phone.
  4. 4Let someone scan it with their camera.

Step 1: Upload your resume

Pick the PDF from your phone or computer. PDFs up to 10 MB work, and most one-page resumes are far smaller. A PDF keeps your layout exactly as you designed it.

Step 2: Enter your name

Your name appears on the page a recruiter sees after they scan, so they know whose resume they just opened.

Step 3: Save your QR code

  • Tap Save QR Code to get the image on your phone.
  • Add it to your Favorites album so you can find it quickly.
  • You can also print it on a name tag or the top of a paper resume.

Step 4: Let someone scan it

Any phone camera reads it. They point, tap the link that appears, and your resume opens in their browser. There is nothing for them to install.

A few things worth knowing

  • The code doesn't expire.
  • Uploading a new resume keeps the same code.
  • Your resume is only seen by people you show the code to.
