Sharing Your Resume With a Recruiter

In person, by message, or by email. Match how they asked.

In person, let them scan your resume QR code. By message, send your resume link. By email, attach the PDF and include the link too, so they always have the newest version.

PDF works best.

Free. No account. PDF works best.

Make it easy to say yes

  • Name your file after yourself, like Jane-Doe-Resume.pdf.
  • Keep the message to three sentences: who you are, what you want, and the resume.
  • Send it the same day you spoke, while they remember you.
  • Don't make them create an account to read it.

Should I send a link or an attachment?

Send a link when you may update your resume, and add the PDF when they asked for a file to keep on record. Sending both is fine.

What if I already sent an old version?

With a resume link, upload the new PDF and the link they already have shows the newer one. With an attachment, you have to send it again.

How soon should I follow up?

Within two days, once. If there's no reply after another week, one more short message is reasonable.
